Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the Persian Gulf. It is the emirate's main city, sometimes called "Dubai City" to distinguish it from the emirate.
Dubai is the most populous and second largest emirate of the UAE after Abu Dhabi. Dubai is distinct from other emirates of the UAE as revenues from Dubai's oil account for only 6% of its gross domestic product. A majority of the emirate's revenues are from tourism.
Dubai has achieved world fame through innovative real estate projects, sports events, conventions and a string of Guinness records.
The official language is Arabic. Arabic and English are commonly used in business and commerce. Hindi and Urdu are also widely used.

Visas: Visit Visas are granted to the majority of nationalities and applications are processed by the hotel with nominal charges, subject to approval by the local authorities.
Languages: The local language is Arabic; however English is widely used and spoken.
Currency: The currency is the Emirati Dirham, which is pegged to the US Dollar. The Dirham is commonly referred to as either AED or DHS when shown in written form such as price tags or menus.
Climate: October to February ranges from 16°C to 26°C, March and May ranges from 22°C to 38°C, June to September temperatures rising up to the maximum of 48°C.
